How Do You De-Chlorinate Water?

No, the bacteria should not have all died.

Good to hear EA!
I re-dosed (8ml) @ 3.00PM today, but took out 35% of the water out before and had to buy one of these to hoover the gravel floor just in case there were hatchings on the bottom.
It really is a good vac, long enough telescope extension if needed, and you can cut it to size to match height of your tank.
My old suck and Swedish pump was just too messy and usual mouth of water LOL!
Generally they seem less Ichy and claimer than before. All API tests showed 0PPM except PH @ 8, Nitrate @ 5.0PPM.

Nothing wrong with these items, but I don't see the need to spend money on them.  If it means you'll do a better job of vacuuming and do it more often, then I'm all for it!

I've got a few tricks to eliminate the mouth full of water, but this works too!

Well lets put it this way the old suck and pump was so old it snaped at the end funnel last week. Plus it was only U$25 dollars as the newer Algard suck and pump was U$18 dollars! £6 pound or U$9 difference so thought not much in it TBF.
I was surprised now much flake food was left behind the bog wood, plus the grill seems to stop me loosing too much gravel when stiring up the substrate for waste.
One thing I like is when the 70 litre container gets too full it weighs quite a bit I can now stop flow with the power button and not get water pissing out of the tube from the other end all over the carpet, like I did with the suck and pump tubing.
My trick it to get my kid to suck the water LOL!

Lol!

There are other ways too.

EA you will have to tell me sometime buddy!

Today is treament day 3 and the larger goldfish has two white spots on its tail. The ones on his head have gone, also smaller fish still has a couple on his head, but both not stressed and eating well.
I've been thinking doing the water changes just before dosing might weaken the meds, but I won't overdose the tank? I'm thinking I have to catch the ich when they cycle and drop off into the substrate?
Water is very clear TBF, after four hours the filters are definatley doing there job even though its just sponge, noodles and bio balls NO carbon taken out before the blue meds went in.
If after day 6 when the treatment should stop do I carry on dosing after 48 hours and start it all over again if they still have white spot?

PS all API tests are Zero except Nitrate @ 10PPM.

Here's one:  Connect the hose to your sink and fill it with water (this can either be done directly into your tank or not, depending on the length of the hose.  Put one end into the tank, and lower the other end - presto - instant suction, no special equipment necessary.

Here's another: use the filter outflow to fill the hose, once its full or nearly, submerge it into the tank and the suction should finish the job.  Once the suction is going, be sure to turn off the filter. ;)

One last one for now: Connect the hose to a powerhead submerged in the tank.  Once the hose is full enough, remove the powerhead and suction up the gunk as needed.

EA thanks if I run out of kids I'm sure those methods will come in handy!
Update last day of treatment tommorow as perscribed there i still two salt grains on a fin guessing they havent droped yet so will carry on dosing after 48 hours from tommorow to cure this peski ich!
I went to see a filter yesterday and it leaked like a sieve!

The chap had a hobby work shop lathe and other stuff and he couldn't cure the leak?
I was told it was just the seal, but TBF it looked like a new seal on it already. I asked if I could bring it back if the new seal I was going to buy didn't work he told me NO sold as seen.
I walked away as I knew this model proberly had a crack on the ceramic head.
Funny I drove 1hr to get there and I was called a time waster??? He never told me there was a leak just he couldn't gaurantee the seal? Plus he didnt know what model it was and I turn up and its stickers are still on the canister??? I don't get some people?
