How do I really add this?

you can put the fish in the 29 tommorrow if you want to. Just change the water until it reads 0 ammo 0 nI. then put in the filter from the established ten that the fish are coming from along with the fish. Boom you're 29 WILL be cycled. But if you decide to add more fish do so slowly. each fish you add will increase the bioload causeing a mini-cycle. so run the ten filter in the 29 along with the 29 filter for a few weeks then you can remove the 10 filter back to the old ten along with a new stock of fish. get second opinions on everything before you try anything though.

BTW btw means by the way

alrighty. Thanx

Now another ?. Could I place a flame tetra(or w/e they r called) w/ a betta (male)?

I do not know. But if I had to give you an answer NO. Male betta's are odd fish. Some will go fine with anything, while others will kill anything that moves. so your best bet for a tank mate with a male betta is five pieces of glass and maybe a dwarf frog or two. Oh I've read that male betta's can go with white cloud mountain minnows but I wouldn't push my luck. sitck with the african dwarf frogs, i'm almost sure they would be able to get along. and if not then they can go in your 29.

edit: anything else?

well i'm off to bed i'll give you another 2-3 mins for a final question or two but i'm bone tired and it's 3 am. I was going to bed when I came across your thread. I hope i've been helpful. remember to be patient. You've gotten this far in the fishless cycle don't get frustrated now. It should be ready in time for the new arrivals.

Yes they really do go with whites!! I tried it one time and he payed them about as much attention as he paid the decorations in there(they were in a 10g together). That's how I came to have White clouds I have now. He was in there with four of them.

Now I have a couple ?'s b/c It was 3 am where I am too and I went to bed :D

Should I leave the old filter with the new one for a while b/f I put the fish in there?

and should I add more salt? I added 1 tsp per 5 gals to start w/?

How should I acclimate them to the new tank?

This is what I thought I should do:

Take a few cups of water form the 10 and pour it in to the 29 and then put the same amount back into the ten from the 29. Do that every 5-10 mins maybe? or do I really have to find a bag big enough to hold them :/

Also I would like to ask if the slowed process of the cycling could be due to me have a divider and 2 breeder nets in there?

When I opened the tank the other day I saw a film on top of the water in the 2 breeder nets and it's still there. That tells me right there that water isn't cycling through there. If I took those out, would it help... Maybe...

so it completely cycled it over night???

For the most part...any spikes were VERY minor. The only place I could find it was at Petland..one of the chain stores here in the Atanta area.

Well, not a single store near me has it!! I want to order some, but can't from marineland.com. Do you know of a store that has a web I can get it from? And does it really work as well as it says it does? My LFS told me it was garbage...

My LFS told me it was garbage...

That is unfortunate. I have used it and it worked exactly as described. I have found that the stores that have told me the same thing had never used it; they just assumed it didn't work. Also, I have found that many stores don't like dealing with products that have to stay refrigerated (just my personal experience).

Do a google search...you should be able to find a mail retailer...if that fails...call Marineland.

Good Luck!

According to another forum I visit, This is a very good source of Bio Spira.
