How do i make a cave for my tank?

I want to make a cave for my fish tank i would like some plants coming from it and i was woundering how do i get the shap and that lark and plants coming from it.

Take apiece of PVC or a flower pot and some aquarium sealant. Then glue gravel/rocks onto it along with some plants. You might want to read the others posts and look at their pics.

WHOA!! That grotto thing is really cool! If I had a bigger tank I would definetley make one .

Should be fun to make and see when it's done .

I have made a tunnel for my fish i got two plant pots and glued them together and the lent shells against the plant pots so you cant see the pots is looks ok but i could of improved it. i will get some pics on here soon.

i would like to also make a cave for my tank.. im thinking of plant pot also.. how do i go about cleaning them before i stick them into the water?.. do they give off any sort of color?.. also how do i go about painting it black... i dont want it to be orange.. is their speical spray i can buy to color it?..

Hi Jdm dc2 i just got 2 new plant pots for £1 i didnt want to infect the fish i lent some shells against mine so you cant even see then and it dose look like a cave

1) i dont know about the spray go to your LFS =(local fish shop) and look there.

i just made one of the grotos for a friend of mine, she set it up in her 48g tall and it looks great.next i'm doing one for my 55g, i'm going to make it so it fits around part of the back and 1 side, it'll hide the wires, hoses, and my tank is half on a wall, and half in an opening so i can see it from another room.
total cost to make the first one was $22.

i took three flat rocks and formed a pyramid with them, with hole on top. then i stuck java moss through the hole. it looks pretty cool, imo

Me too. All of the fish love it............inside and out. Those who don't inhabit it hang out on top of it and eat the algae growing on it........I have several of different sizes in all tanks..........and they look very natural in there as well.............
