How Do I Get My Plattys To Breed

It could also be that between the female betta and the sucking loach (sharing the tank), they eat any babies that might be born :dunno:
bettas will most certain snap up any fry - I've seen it happen. They just "hoover up" all the fry.

i was gonna say they probably all get eaten so u dont see any.

as for the tank size, u need about 5 tanks ATLEAST that size.

ive had 40 odd platty fry in my growout tank for a few months now and there still too small to be sold properly.

20l is still only about 5 gallons. Which is the absolute minimum. You still won't be able to grow more then 1 batch up in there, so be prepared that some may be eaten. I'd go for at least a 15g (55-60l) if you want to be able to raise more then one batch at a time.

Hey maybe you need a few more females ive only had my platys for about 4 weeks and ive just found about 5 fry hiding under my filter i didnt do anything to help the breeding just left them to it the temp is at 79 f not sure if temp has an affect on platy breeding but hey just leave them to to it hopefully you will have a healthy batch of fry soon good luck
