Hi all, after soaking my two pieces of bog wood in the bath for a week, after four days in the tank they have tainted the water slightly brown. Can anyone recommend the best way of getting rid of this, or just do regular partial water changes

Carbon in your filter also helps.

Any reason you want rid of them? Alot of fish actually like them.

Water changes will do it (eventually) but if you want it gone quick and easily (though not as cheaply) then add some carbon to your filter. Or, if you've a pot big enough, just boil them for an hour or two.

When I got mine I was told to soak it in a bucket of water for two weeks. I did so and it hasn't changed the colour of my water at all.

If it's only slightly then as said above water changes should clear it up :)

It can be good for ur fish providing nutrition for them. That's what I've read somewhere before and I like the slightly tinged lol

I sorta like it aswell, gives the tank a more natural look.

Love the bogwood so don't want to get rid of it, just want to clear the water a bit more so will try the carbon, thanks
