Never had to do this before. I have often used Powerpoint, but I have only ever used Word for fairly basic stuff I have managed to get this far through life without ever having to create a diagram on a report. So question is how can I create a simple line diagram and then post it on here. I have just created one in word and selected each part of it and then tried to post it here and it isn't working. I know there is probably a simple answer or even a free program that will help me out. Help please.

The only way i can think of is screen shot it (print screen button - top right on the keyboard.) Then paste it and crop it and then photobucket it. I'm sure there's an easier way though!!

Yeah hadn't thought about that Lewis I did consider photographing a drawing  , then I thought I should probably take the opportunity to learn a new skill and find out how to do it properly.

I'm sure theres a much easier way! Maybe someone more technical will come along and help!

you could use ms paint to draw the diagram then save it as a jpeg and then upload into photobucket............. thats how i did this

hope this helps

Often you can copy/paste from MS Word directly into Paint and then save as whatever format. If you do a Ctrl+A to make sure you have everything selected and then paste into paint, you should get everything with Word 2003 and later (I don't recall if it worked with earlier versions). Tables can be a bit funky at times and turn up missing lines and stuff, but anything where you've drawn on the page with the various shape tools should copy over without issue. Same should work for powerpoint too, as that is how I trick I've used in my own research reports over time. Lewis's print screen method is another of my favorite techniques to deal with pesky tables!
