How Clean Is Your Aquarium Water?

The water in my tank is probably cleaner and purer than the stuff that comes out of the tap.

RO water is much better than standard tap water. Flouride, chlorine, etc etc is totally unnecessary yet added to our water, and we wonder why diseases such as cancer and other unexplained things are around.

A good friend of mine is a homeopath who's actually banned from a certain radio station after having a debate with the head of the north wests water quality control and asking him that if (as he argued) we have some of the 'best water quality in the world' - why he had a reverse osmosis filter fitted to his home water system... Enough said really.
Actually Fluoride and Chlorine both have pretty necessary purposes, Fluoride is proven to prevent tooth decay but on the flip side too much of it causes dental fluorisis in Children which is becoming increasingly common. Chlorine inhibits the production of pathogens and kills bacteria. Also consuming pure water on a regular bases INCREASES the risk of cancer and other age-related illnesses as pure water depletes certain parts of the body of minerals, this leads to the creation of free radicals in the body.

Personally I think RO water tastes like crap, give me a mineral water any day.

Well said ;)

My fish bump uglies in my tank.....so unless my protein source from meat and cheese is completely cut off, i dont believe ill be drinking out of my tnk any time soon.

There was actually a time where our water was shut off for a couple of days for maintenance... I needed a drink and that's all I had so I drank it. It's not actually that bad really as my water is crystal clear, never a spec in it as it's over-filtered and regular water changes. Nuff Said :p

unusal , the water companies normally supply bottled or bowsered water when the supply is cut off .....

I know, they weren't expecting it to be shut off for so long. It was only meant to be off for an hour or so, not a couple of days.
