In the wild how big do common plecos grow, can some one send me some links or show me pics and sizes. Thanx

normally 12 - 18"

although 24" specimins have been seen

this is why most of us on here try to get this across to common plec owners ASAP!

In the wild

It isn't JUST in the wild - these are the sizes a healthy pleco in captivity SHOULD grow to. People who own common plecos (and similarly large fish) should not kid themselves into believing the fish will not grow as large in their tank - it will - and it will most likely die because of it. Is that something we want to have to put a fish through?
