How About A List Of Fish That Are Great For Newcomers?

Since we have a section "Potential Fish To Avoid For Newcomers" I Figured
we can make a list of easily kept fish =0)

if you do a forum search, there is a very good pinned thread, giving just the advice you want.

I started off with some basic community fish all fish suppliers will have these labelled of will tell you if you ask. Start by a selection of community fish and read up on the fish you have. As you get more confident with the basic fish.......then you could start going a little braver! Get a selection of bottom feeders, mid and top feeders-that way all foods will get eaten. god luck!

I'm new, but from doing research this is what I believe. If experienced people would like to correct me please feel free.

Danios: leopard, pearl, zebra
Barbs: golden, platies
Tetras: black neon, buenos aries (stay in tight shoal, but eat plants)
Gourami: pearl

With platies being the best first in.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I have found pygmy chain loaches rather hardy + i find that gouramis are not very hardy, they allways get diseases.
