i was one of my lfs' yesterday and they had the most enormous anubias i've ever seen! is there a giant variety? the rhizome was at least as thick as my finger and it was probably at least a foot tall and some of the leaves were almost as big as my hand! it was amazing, if i had room for it i would have definitely picked some up. some of it was even flowering

yup..those are wild anubias. the flower u mention is white in colour. but i must remind u , anubias are not found submerged in the wild, infact they grow on the rocky banks, while some older larger ones could be found crawling upwards on a host tree.
there must be a reason why folks who collected wild anubias would leave the larger ones alone, i dont know actually since i never planted them before. anubias is a popular plant for the simple reason its the one plant that refuses to die
