So, I had just about given up.

• I had add TOO much ammonia - my levels weren't on ANY chart
• My thermometer broke - didn't know it until this week. Cycle probably wouldn't have taken THIS long if I had paid attention to the H2O levels :/
• I didn't know to wash my plants :*) and now have a small colony of snails set to take over my tank -_-

• FINALLY after one month my tank is CYCLED! levels are at zero!!!!!! WAHOO!!!

I cannot wait to get fish!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now I just have to find all those index cards where I made notes on what to get!! lol :hyper:

Congrats! You sure went thru a lot but am glad that it worked out for you. :)

I found this list - but I know I changed it. Because the LFS didnt have Cory Pandas and I'm not sure I want to get the Platy - I think I switched to Otos...

Zebra Danios
Black Widow Tetra
Dwarf Gourami
Platy
Cory Pandas
Swordtails

And after being dissatisfied by the LFS I've found, I finally found one I think will be ABOVE par. 1) It discusses fishless cycling on it's website under tank set up!!!! 2) it has a marine biologist on staff!

smb ever hear of it? They've got one here in Columbus, one in Cleveland and another store in NY.

Wow, that place sounds to good to be true!!!! I wish I had something like that around here.

Gabe that's what I was thinking, too! I'm going to head over there today and check it out. I feel like I will be VERY comfortable after watching the video on their website of their store.

My coworker just visited the store they have in NY... it just opened a few weeks ago. He said the store is amazing. The fish were moderately overpriced, but they are offering a 10% first year discount... so that sort of brings the fish prices to normal. But he said that they have an awesome selection of everything.

I'm going there next weekend.

Ok check this out.. I'm in cols too, about 1 mile from that Aquatic Adventures! Its a great place, some very knowledgeable ppl(Matt in particular) and ahve great deals! They actually sent 2 of their leopard sharks to the N.Y store! Now they just have 1 big one in a tank and he looks kinda lonely :-( But anyhow, they almost Always have a 40% off fish sale going and you can't beat that! Very good about returns as well. Highly recommended if you live near one.. Where are you in COlumbus Snow? I get all my stuff from there.. Look into their Aquarium Club car as well.. $20 but you get 10% off any "dry" goods" and 25% off fish when the 40% deal isn't going on.. I've saved Mucho bucks already by buying one.. Let me know! GO BUCKS! :)
edit* Just looked at their website for the first time and I'm impressed.. I liked the "tank setups" showing rock placement and stuff.. Gosh I love those guys
