One of my Dwarf Flame gourami had his/her upper head turn to a dark blue! I just noticed that last night! He also looked like he was going to die  but he didnt. He looks fine today but he/she still has blue colour on his/her head. here is a blurry pic of he/she but the blue on his/her head should be obvious :)

Thats, wierd, mine did the same thing, escept its more his lower part of the head near the jaw, it is so much more blue and dark then it used to be, and he's acting kinda wierd?

I had a dwARF GOURAMI ALONG TIME AGO THAT CAHNGED COLOUR TOO.

DOH, caps lock was on.

Anyways, if you have a young gourami, they do cange colour. Just like some goldfish!

I can see nothing unusual in the photo but you may like to know that your fish is a male. :)

Kissers don't have any differences between the sexes. Males are a little larger when mature sometimes and females a little fatter when breeding time comes round but other than that it's impossible to tell accurately unless they actualy spawn.

one of my dwarf gouramis changes colour all the time it goes a purply brown colour on the bottom half of his body at the back near his tail i:ve since found out they change colour depending on what mood they are in ok

Your fish is in breeding mode. It's nothing to worry about and is actually a good sign that he's happy with the setup you have, i.e. water, lighting, temperature etc. If you have any females you'll probably notice the males 'dance' in front of them when their colour intensifies. It's all part of the mating ritual...

I think one of the best features of gouramis is their ability to change color. Depending on which ones they are, their colors might darker or intensify from very pale shades to bright ones.

I used to have platinum gouramis, which were normally pink with tiny shades of blue and yellow. When they changed, the blue got much darker and covered more of them. They were the exact colors you would think of as baby pink and blue. :D

When a gourami does this it is the equivalent of what a betta is doing when he flares! :flex:
