ok im getting a new tank its gonna be a Juwel Rekord 120

new tank stats:

Volume approx.120 litres

width =101 cm
depth = 31 cm
height = 46 cm

Light tube: 1 x 30W 36"
Juwel Filter System: Compact
Power head:201/204
Heater: 100W

is this big enough for:
1 (F) Angel Fish
2 (F)(M) Dwaf Guoramis
1 (M) Red-Tailed Black Shark
1 (F) Chinese Algea Eater
3 (M)(F)(F) Kribensis Cichlids

:nod: or :no: ?

I have the same tank, and most of that list are out of the question i'm afraid, stay away from chinese algae eaters they grow big and get aggressive as they get older, the red tailed shark needs a 40gal tank, the angels need a 30gal tank,but the other fish sound ok, but i never kept kribensis and don't no anything about them.

The Rekord 120 is 31 US gallons, not 40 as you have listed.

I think these are fish he's already got; he's trying to sort out his overcrowding.

so is this a good tank for the fish? :nod: or :no: ?

Ok...

120 litres = 26UK Gallons (31US Gallons)

As stated above the Red Tailed black shark requires 40gallons + so nope to that one.
Angel Fish - Wilder said 30Gallons but that is minimum so I'd say nope again.
Chinese Algea Eater - This will become very aggressive towards your other fish and could eventually attack the other fish

dang :/

well its better than them all in my current 13gal :sly:

Will the lfs take them back, or get a 40gal which it won't cost much more.

yes maybe a 40 gal but as ive found out its all about space lol. and if you want a stand the cost can go up a lot.

:/ i really dont want to part with any of my fish tbh

Why don't you look for a second hand tank, you might get a 40gal for the price of the rekord 120.

but from where? :sly:

and they have to be near Buckinghamshire, England :/ :X -_-

Look in local papers i've seen tanks advertised in there, before i even started the hobby.

Ebay is a great place to start. Being in bucks check the bucks herald, bucks free press, the buckingham and winslow advertiser, and the Milton Keynes citizen. If you can't find a cheap tank from one of those papers (which would probably require a miracle ;)) then sign up to www.freecycle.org and put a "WANTED" note up.
