Do you think these are good for an adult guppy and platy? I understand that these pellets are for small fish but I'm wondering exactly how small they mean - thanks.

When I worked at a lfs I fed these to tetras, guppies, platies, swords, mollies, bottom feeders, etc... They all loved it.

i feed this to my tetras and smaller fish but everything eats it, they love it.... angelfish, L200, bristlenose, tetras - they all eat it as well as plenty of other food types too.

if the fish will eat it then feed it. its better than wasting it :good:

mine sink straight away and they are excellent for corys. i use to feed corys on this food quite a lot when breeding them :good:

The micro pellets are designed to float and sink slowly so no they're not really suitable for corys. There ARE sinking pellets by Hikari but I don't think these are the ones being discussed, mattlee.

Anyway, it may be microscopic food, but it's still food, and will be eaten by anything that can swallow it.

prima is designed to be a slow sinking food but it still makes it to the substrate unless you have a ridiculous amount of hungry fish...... i use micro pellets to feed my tetras and plenty get eaten by my plecs.

just hold it under the water surface and it will sink much faster than tossing it on the surface :good:

I am going to support something a bit out of the ordinary for me here. If I find that my fish like a food, I use it more often in the mix of foods that I feed them. If they are not enthusiastic about a new food, they never see it again. It is not that I am some kind of expert on the subject. Rather I am a hobbyist who watches his fish. If my fish love a new food, they get it more often. If they hate it, they never see it again. With as many tanks as I have that means I still get to use most of the foods that I buy. What one kind of fish hates, another often loves.
