High Ph, Any Tips?

I wish I had the space to set something like that up! That sounds like a great method.... Do you think my method of changing the peat in my filters on a weekly basis will just cause up and down problems??

Hi,

Sorry I got busy and haven't spent time on the forum.  I haven't ever tried adding peat to filters - I didn't think it would lower it enough and keep it there.  Does it work?  What kind of results have you had?

It's been at a 7.9 and steady. Not a substantial loss, but it's not 8.2. I plan on getting a lot of bogwood soon, so Im sure that will help too.

Peat only has a minor influence in my limited experience.  If your pH is high it generally means there is a reasonable amount of buffering in the water, so your best bet is to lower it by filtering the water before adding it to the tank.  look for RO (reverse osmosis) on the forums and see how people do it.  You might be able to DIY a system that's fairly cheap.. commercial systems are hundreds of bucks, and you might be OK with a simpler water filter rather than full on RO.
