I'm john 55 married from west Midlands.
I'm new to this forum stuff so bear with.
I would like to know is there an all in one tap water conditioner if so what is the best or do I just keep with bio start and tap safe also stress coat.

Welcome. Seachem prime is probably the best all around water conditioner. Smells like garlic and dirty socks, but it's great stuff.

Most here avoid stress coat as it contains aloe vera which can negatively affect fish.

Is the tap safe Love Fish Tap Safe? This is a dechlorinator which removes chlorine and metals but also contains

contains a natural colloid

Stress coat is also a dechlorinator, and it contains aloe vera.

You only need to use one dechlorinator.


If you water company adds chlorine to your tap water rather than chloramine, API Tap Water Conditioner is another good water conditioner. It contains just two things rather than a cocktail like some others.



Bio start sounds like bottled bacteria. Some of these work, but some do nothing.


SlapHppy mentioned cycling - are you aware of what this means? Shops never mention it, I'm afraid.
