hi everyone!!

im just starting fish again, i have been working abroad and now im back i have got a new tank with community fish, i use to keep cichlids, south african fish and oscars and red bellied pirahnas, (red bellied), but as i was kinda rusty in back with the little fish, now this has occured...

my platie was in a breeding trap, quiet young, and she gave birth, but her babies were in eggs still and some where not realy formed, why is this and is it normall??

thanks for any advice!!

flo!!..( tom ) :good:

hi,
:hi: to tff,
and its great you are getting back in to your hobby, what happend to your platy is she aborted her fry to early, stress is why she did this i would say, if you put a female in these breeding traps they should spend no longer than 2 days max then be let out for a while, this happend to me once it was sad to see, now i let mine give birth in the main tank and use plants for mum to hide in, some times i use floting plants and i can then use a plastic cup to scoop them up out of the floting plants in to the breeding net, or put mum in a spare tank i have, i hope you have better luck next time, :good: hth all the best donna :) .

thanks!!

so 2 days max is cool, well im sure i will b on most days as i work from home so all good!!

thanks again..WHERE IS FLO????..lol
