I disagree.. 10 fry and a guppy are too big for a 3 gallon. You don't want to cause growth issues by keeping them in something so small.

Oh wow. Can't wait. :hyper:

Thanks for helping me.
Guppies, I'll remember that

& yeah, I'll eventually get a bigger tank.

Looking at the pic of tank cant realy tell how big it is.
But as i said will have to get another tank when they start getting bigger!!!!!

Well, OP told us it's a 3 gallon. That's simply not large enough.
THey don't have to go out and buy a 10 gallon (which is only 10 bucks, btw) right now. They could use a large tupperware, or rubber maid container..

OP, I hope the babies are doing well, and do please get them something bigger to grow out in. :)

Oh I will, thanks again.

Can the guppy eat the babies?

I don't believe so, no. Guppies are not aggressive fish, so they should be fine together. :) You might ask someone to move this to the guppy thread for more information. :D

Yes, guppies will eat fry. At least, my platies did, best thing to do is seperate them.

Mother livebearers eat their babies except for maybe endlers (which is a smaller guppy type fish). You will be having more if the female lives so you will probably want to get a larger tank if you can if not get something that holds water even a 5 gallon bucket. A tank the size you have I would keep one MALE guppy in it at most. It will be interesting to watch the babies grow up, you will have some idea what strain they are if there are any males in the group. If you are feeding them flakes you might want to crush some very fine for the babies.

Actually that tank looks bigger than 3 gallons to me, but I could be wrong. And she looks kinda big to be a guppy, but then again I haven't kept guppies since the 70s.

Go back to shop and ask what they are playing at.hope you didnt pay much for the guppys?

Aha.
Well it wasn't more than $1.

So will they still fight I keep them like that?
Or should I just go with what Dibari suggested?

haha well that explains why they gave birth to live young lol!! the guppies will be fine in the tank together aslong as you keep 1 male to every 2 females

Haha, this is pretty interesting indeed. You definitely need a larger tank ASAP to accomidate all of the fry.

Hello sandie66! You're a fellow Orlandian. :)

Thanks.

Yes, I crushed the flakes. [They look so cute when they eat]
& just to be on the safe side, I took out the big fish & left the fry together.

I guess it will take time until I'm able to tell the fry's gender, right?

I'm actually going out this morning to compare prices on tanks.
So hopefully I'll get myself a nice big tank.
