cheeky buggers lol a noob with good intentions ill have you know

sounds expensive even second hand lol

expensive but worth it as there are so many more possibilities

Good job guys :good:

Just one clarification though:

Salinity and SG are not the same:

Salinity is the measurement of how much salt there is in or we put in the water - 35 ppt for an SG of 1.026

Specific gravity is about weight - so how much more does it weigh than pure water. So pure water, is 1 and sea water is 1.026, so it weighs 1.026 more than pure water.

Our Refractometers, measure the reflective index of the water and then converts it to SG

Take no offense my friend newbies to the salty side keep this forum going.

Weeza I meant you can answer their q's from now on but I was only joking!

There's nothing better than someone starting their first marine tank and watching it develop.

Especially when theirs piccy's! Lol

Regarding expense it depends on what system (FO/FOWLR/REEF) and If you have a nose for a bargain. It's as little or as expensive as you want it to be.

Plug n play tanks (NANO'S MAINLY) come with all the needed equipment ready for a small reef setup. Lighting, skimmer, pump and filtration but it can cost more to maintain as weekly water changes and cleaning is a must on nano's as their more unstable environments than bigger tanks.
