Aye, I tbvh, I am a complete novice to keeping fish, I've had my 86ltr. half-moon tank near 12mths. it only last couple months that I began setting up buying a Fluval U2 filter system, air-stone pump, a 100w heater & tbh I brought half dozen ornamental plastic grass like foliage, with some 4" deep of natural gravel, with that the once 86ltr. tank now holds abouts 65ltr. I plan on a half dozen group schooling of 'Glowlight Tetra' & no more than another ×4 fish of say 2 differing speicies of ×2 fish obviously best outcome being, I should imagine compatibility of fishes is that of a greatest requirement... So other than the half dozen Tetra, I very much not decided to any particular type, species of fish, so thus to making, first time decision that of a good choice made.... So if anyone would like to give some o your valuable informative wisdom on happen I can & do make the bestest of choice when deciding which fishes will make best tank mates, I be much appreciated for such... PS: btw, I will hopefully be wanting to go for the natural plant life almost sure the fishes would appreciate such than the artificial, it just at mo, it all to do, a learning curve to that when I feeling a tad
more in confidence with my abilities then living foliage be definitely the way to go.... Thanks all in advance from me, I 'just1Nigel'

Welcome! Only advice I have is to start with simple plants that require little maintenance like crypts, water lettuce, frogbit, elodea densa. That's how I got started, sometimes it's a bit of trial and error!

Thanks Loc86,
Yes, really have only just take up keeping an aquarium as an hobby, tbh, thinking towards that just for mo, having more or less getting to grips with water treatments towards required water parameters for a healthy environment, thinking my tank is now good to go, so now planning to home the half dozen Glowlight Tetra happen probably sometime next week, reasoning being I understand that such are relatively a type of fish towards making a good start for the novice beginner, such that is myself, I suppose this bunch of lil' fishy souls being my 'guinea pigs'. Hopefully, obviously all will be well & that these will still be happily swimming around for a long time to come... Now, it a case of not wanting to do the living plants ting, in time with confidence it most definitely being the way to go, thankyou for your valued information given, it is definitely appreciated & will take on board when time comes... Hello emeraldking,
Well, apart from a half dozen Glowlight Tetra, being on they fairly hardy easy to look after, I really having no idea on what would be best comparable tank mates with the Tetra, taking in to account size of the tank which is an 86ltr. Though now with addad mechanised equipment gravel & ornamental grass foliage it now holding some 65ltrs.of water, thus presumedly approximately may be comfortable to homing around 10 or 12 fish... Be grateful if for tips or recommendations as to what species being best to go for... Tia

Basically, with glo tetras, other types of tetras would be okay. But also smaller rasbora species, dwarf cichlids like apistogrammas and bristelnoses. This is to keep also the tank friendly, all layers of the tank will be used and they match the needs. But of course, there are way more fish species that could be good tank mates.

Thankyou very much for your given knowledge on what maybe best species of fish towards making best of tank mates, it very much appreciated, tnx.
