I've returned my pygmys to the main tank,so to keep my filter ticking over i decided to try and see if my gold lasers will breed.

ATM they are settling in,i will give them a week or so then start with the feeding the bloodworm etc :)

Well within 24 hours and before i could start conditioning them,i came home to find them very active, then noticed the female carrying eggs!! :hyper: :hyper: :hyper:

I'm just uploading a video of the female carrying the eggs and starting to spawn :)

ATM theres around 10 eggs i've saved, not bad for first timers :)

here's the video

And eggs i've saved

Congratulations, Harlequins! The conditions must be just right for them. Good luck raising the fry.

Update for those who are interested... the gold cory eggs are now hatching ,i can see 6 fry ATM :hyper:

Thats great news :good:
Wish i could get my pepper cory eggs to hatch. Did you just have them in the net or did you put a air pump and bits in there?

Awsome, congratulations! What do the youngsters feed on, after they have presumeably used up the yolksac over the next few dyas?

I had them in a net with an airstone running underneath :),i find the airstone does play a part, has i had albino fry in the next tank with no airstone and most of the eggs went fungal...

Both times ive had eggs they have defiantly been fertilized i put them in a net breeding trap with a air stone but they just dont hatch they dont get fungus but after 1 week they still hadnt hatched so i binned them.

For the first few days they have their egg sac,i then squeeze filter mulch over them and start feeding them on day 3 with first bites then going on to adding defrosted baby brine shrimp :)

Thanks everyone :),ended up with all 10 eggs hatching, but i had a major disaster this morning,by knocking the tub on the floor with all the newly hatch fry incl the golds,i managed to get them up but only time will tell if they survive

Here's the new fry this morning after being rescued from the floor  ,there's albino fry and i think tri fry,i was surprised to see the tri fry, they must have been spawning same time has the albinos

Congrats on them hatching :)

Thankfully they're all still alive and kicking at the moment, thanks :) :good: although 2 of the gold fry have disappeared, unless they escaped out of the large net, which i am holding them in at the moment until they grow a bit more to hold their own with the older fry in the tank :)

Would a 3-4 week old albino fry be able to eat few days old fry??
