my blond female guppy is pregnant but her stomach isnt really big, her gravid spot is dark-chocolate colour and its really big, i can see little black dots in it of i look closely.
Today, suddenly she stopped eating anything and most of the time shes hiding in the plants, sometimes she would swim a little. the male guppy has been with her. sometimes he would poke her but she'd move away.
is she going to give birth soon?that means i'll have to move the male out of the tank(the tank shes in is 1.5gal and there's no other fish except the male)She seems to have almost no trouble swimming though.and like i said, her stomach isnt very big.
plz help!!

First of all can you post test results in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.

Do an immediate water change then let us no how she doing, i think it's water quality.

i already did 20% water change today as there is some brown algae on the gravel.
btw the tank has an undergravel filter and it has lots of poop&leftover food under it. i cant just dump all the water out to clean it so i'm doing 20% water change everyday.

its not like she cant swim, she swims fine but 80% of the time shes hiding and not movin in the plants.

When did you last do a gravel vac.

do you think she might be close to birth thats why she's hiding all the time?

If it's not bad water quality probably, females get moody when there about to give birth and go in corners and rest.

she also seems to poke along the edges of the tank and she is pooing just now...

Do a gravel vac as the debris will be poluting the tank, no don't take the male out with that size tank, sounds awful but probably best if no fry survives.

I see why aren't they in there then.

because i want the female to get used to the 1.5 gal tank so she wont be extra stressed out when she's close to giving birth and i have to move her in there, its better if i put them both in and then take the male out when shes ready to drop.
