How long have you had the fish, and have you been putting alot of food in his tank.

2.5-3 months. I did put a little more than usual for the last couple days because he has problems eating betta bites (too big) but I guess he must have gotten a couple down. I saw him poop this morning, and he's swimming a lot better than yesterday. He still starts to tilt (tail towards the surface) when he stops swimming while deeper in the water, but he's able to stop it by spreading his tail fin. I guess the salt is working. I'm not going to feed him today or tomorrow, hopefully he'll be fine.

I guess it was just constipation, thank god it wasn't something more serious.

:)

He needs veg in his diet to stop them from getting swim bladder problems, as to many dried foods can cause this, dont overfeed as it soon polutes the water in a small tank, good luck .

Oh, ok. What kind of veggies will he eat? I also feed him flakes instead every couple days.

edit: for future reference- do all fish need veggies from time to time?

He wouldn't eat it, oh well. Anything I can get at the fish store that he'll like? Maybe some freeze-dried blood worms? (the frozen and live ones gross me out :p ) Any other veggies?

freeze dried can actually cause worse swim bladder problems. If you can't get over the gross factor of live or frozen, you'll have to stick with betta bites and maybe a pea every so often.

We use Hikari Betta Bio-Gold Fish Food for our betta. The pellets are very small so he has no problem with them. Ours gets 2 in the morning and 2 at night and he eats them immediately. He moves up to the corner of the tank when it is feeding time. When we drop them in, the current from the pump moves them straight to him. It's rare for him to miss one as it comes by but if he does, he stalks it and attacks it. I think he would literally eat the whole pack and explode if we dumped them all in at once.

Actually he's not any better, and he's taking his frustration out on everything. Flared at me, at the pump, at the heater...

I just hope it works itself out. -_-

I'm not familiar with the Betta Bites but these are small, probably about the size of a pin head or maybe the size of a lower case "o" in these posts. If you go to a pet store that has them (ours came from PetSmart) the package is transparent so you can see the size and compare to what you are using now.

I went through a similar problem with my cory. I isolated him for 3 days in a breeder box and then gave him the pea. He seems to be doing fine again now but this was the second tim with him. Hopefully, it will work itself out for you. Good luck
