Hello. I notced last night that my fish were acting odd. They ate and everything fine but then i noticed they were taking themselves and ramming into objects in the tank and scraping themselves what it looked like. Anyway i looked just now and one wrapped around the filter for a second, and darted into a corner. I looked to make sure he was okay and it seemed like it. but then i looked again and my mbuna was picking at something...the jewel! I went over there and the mbuna scampered off and the jewel was alive, but dark, very dark and not breathing much. I also noticed one small portion of the jewel was raised a bit. About the size of an erasor head. Help!?

What are the ammonia and nitrite levels like? Have you done anything differnet lately? Any big water changes, new fish? What species of cichlids are you stocking? The more information, the better.

sounds like white spot, isolate sub-dominant jewel and treat with anti parasite treatment. if jewel is constantly harrasesd then expect outbreaks
