One of my female guppies inbreed with her brother.
Two days ago she had three fry & yesterday she had another one.
I'd like to stop them inbreeding. So could I have all-female in one tank & all-male in another one? Or would that cause problems?
& yes, she's the only pregnant one.

Yes you can do that as that is how I used to keep my guppies because they were having too much fry and it also depends on how many of each sex is going to be housed together.

yes u can and a 100% male tank stop then from fighting as much as they mainly fight for the females.

seperate tanks is a good idea, i breed guppies (not sure why!), and i keep them in seperate tanks, and only have the male in for 48 hours with the girls when i want them mated (this is more than enough time).
i also keep records of which male has been in there, and make an effort to source breeders from different stores and stock.
although i am trying to breed for certain traits (a lot of people inbreed deliberately to speed this up), i would prefer all my lines to be kept straight!

Thank you all.

I don't know exactly how many of each sex I have. I will have to check. How many would be okay in a 10 gallon tank?

Oh good. Two of my males keep following the pregnant one. I'm afraid they'll go at it.

That is a very good idea. Thanks.
