but it says on the back that you only need to treat it once every day for 7 days.
what do you mean by add the correct ammount of melafix to the water removed.
are you sayin add like 1ml of melafix because the tank is only 15L

yes theres a pump in there is that ok
or should i put a bubble filter in?

yes i have a pump in there is that ok?
or should i put a bubble filter in?

The pump is ok, say if you remove half a galllon of water add the melafix back to half a gallon.

is there anything elce what is cheap that i could buy to increase its recovery?

how many liters is half a gallon?
thanks for all this great advise BTW

About 2 and abit litres, antibiotics from a vet, or anti internal bacteria med by interpet, as with the skin being broken bacteria could of invaded the inside of the fish.

Melafix is just an antiseptic treatment for outside cuts and wounds, will do nothing for the inside of the fish, just keep the wound clean on the outside, like us when we have a cut and we clean it with antiseptic lotion.

she is breething a bit slower.
she hasnt moved for 3 days.
The only time she moves is when the tank water moves when i am putting melafix in or i
feed her pellets.
She just sucks them in.
please what elce can i do i dont want to lose her.
thanks

Like i have said she needs a internal bactria med.

today she looks a lot better.
her wound is healing up.
however her ovary is closing up and scales are growing over it.
her fins in the center of the body are turning slightly yellow.
any sugestions

just make sure the wound doesn't get infected and she is well oxyginated and keep a close eye on her and there should soon be signs of healing, but the only problem is, is there a lot of blood loss???

thanks
half of her wound is healing up but like i said some of her fins are turning yellow.
does anyone have any sugestions on this.
thanks

p.s should i feed her sinking pellets or just leave her because she was in hibination any way.
thanks

try not to feed her any sinking try the floating pellets a couple of times, im not sure about the fins perhaps its somthing to do with her being pregnant or perhaps its discoloration due to stress if i was u i would try to get some anti fin rot, and give her a dose of tht jus incase....................;) better safe thn sorry ;)

i cant feed her floating pelets because she cant swim, shes on the floor.
she hasnt moved for 5 days but she is breathing better.
do you think she will lose them scales then grow them back.
thanks

When a fish has open wounds they are open to parasites and bacterial infection, the yellow is it fluffy, on the scales does it look like a dusting or fluffy in appearance.

no its just yellow on its scales.
someone earlier said that it could be disscolourration due to stress.
i my self think its scales will come off and it will grow more back.
btw she tryed to swim today but couldent.
im realy happy with her effort.
her skin hanging off looks like its coming off and the botom half of her wound is healing up.
thanks

Can you get a pic of the sick fish as this would help us to help you treat it better.

sounds as if shes getting better i think the scales will grow back as now and again i have noticed missing scales from other fish and they have grown back with no problem and try feeding her pellets with tweezers by her mouth to cause no stressand hen she should eat it then but i do believe there might be a scar were the wound was
