Help with Fluval 306: flow reduces to nothing after hours/noisy

just a side thought that came to me, how do you have your media arranged in the filter? im only wondering as i had a really fine foam at the top nearest the impellor and it would on occasion get sucked up and jam the impellor or impede its performance. might not be but just a side thought

That can happen if the top section does not have a cover to stop the media moving up.

I had sponges only in my filters. Nick had a video that showed filter media set up but I can't find it. Hopefully he can post it here for you to view.
