Just got a big tank, and after struggling to get it into the basement chipped a small hole in the wall, WHY does it have to be one of those basements with a turning staircase? anyway its just sitting in my kitchen now, and I'm thinking the only option is to cut the silicone and take the tank to pieces and move it downstairs.

Would anyone have any advice on this? I read online that you should heat the silicone first with a hairdryer so I guess I'l do that.

thanks in advance!

ps. the tank measures 5x2x3

Unless you know what you are doing i wouldnt mess with 160 gallons of water...

its empty right now, how else do you think I was moving it? :shifty:

My dad recently had to take apart a 50 gal and reseal it, so he does know what hes doing, he says its a slow process but it needs to be slow to do it right, anyone have any experience?

I think he ment after you reseal it and fill it back up, i know it's a basement but isnt there a window or something you could take out and get it through that way? lol.
