Help! Something Is Wrong With My Betta!

I have the betta water conditioner drops that I have always used and this is the first time the water has ever gotten cloudy that fast. i'm going to do a 50% water change today so hopefully that will help with the cloudiness. Does anyone suggest moving them to sunlight for about an hour a day? I used to do that with my old betta and he seemed to love the sunlight, he would be super active for that hour. That may have just been, though, because he didn't have a heater in his bowl so the temp. increase may have been why he was reacting. THANKS!

Glad to hear you have got a larger bowl for your new betta. It will make the world of difference, as will the heater.

Ammonia produced by the fish's waste builds up in the tank. Any level of ammonia is not good for fish. Good news is, with just 1 betta, he isn't going to produce too much. But without a filter, make sure you keep on top of those water changes.

the cloudiness is likely just a bacterial bloom, nothing to worry about. I wouldn't worry about moving your betta into the sunlight, it may stress him out to move him. Just keep the bowl somewhere not too near the window, but near enough that he gets some natural sunlight.
