so my problem is
i don t know why my fish are dying suddenly
my two dead lemon tetras was rolling around and wasn t eating. i tried to treat them with interpet swim bladder but it hasn t work at all
the dead daniels something???? was hanging at the surfaces yesterday night with swollen belly.
i tried to treat him witn interpet internal bacterial infection but it has n t work too
now the three other daniels are doing the same at the other who just died
and my remainig lemon tetra has white cotton wools on his body but i tried to treat him for 1 week now with interpet white fungus and fin rot but it doesn t seems to work
and one of my color tetras has some sort of cataract on his eyes
and finally how could i keep my nitrate and nitrite lower because i added the stingray 144 to cope with the load of fish in my tank and i change 20/30 % of the water every week and treat it with api stress coat but it doesn t seems to work either .
and i got a snail infestation too
please someone help me now because this situation is driving me crazy .
thank you for my fish

how long has the tank been set up? and has the nitrite been an on-going problem or has it happened recently?

The nitrate isn't anything to worry about but the nitrite is. I would be doing daily water changes to get the nitrite down, but you also need to figure out why it is high in the first place.

have you added any fish recently? have you done anything to the filter media (eg. cleaned it - if so how, changed it etc)
How long ago was the stingray filter added? did you do a fishless cycle before adding fish?
you do sound quite heavily stocked, though I admit I'm no expert on stocking. Maybe someone esle could comment on that?

I'm not too hot on treating fish disease so I'll leave that to someone else too, but it is important to get your water quality under control. That's probably your biggest culprit right now.

Oh, and are the "Daniels" Danios by any chance?

Hi,

I agree with littlest on the water parameters.

Firstly, do a 50% water change immediately), then get yourself Nita-Zorb (made by API) in order to absorbs the nitrites from the water, from your tank I'd say you'd need two tubs (simply place the sachet inside your filter or hang it infront of your Fluval's outlet). Also add aquarium salts to help the fish to cope with the nitrite problem.

Continue with a 20-25% water change and nitrite tests until the nitrite problem is resolved (readings below 0.3).

Now you can move on and treat the bacterial problem and I would suggest you look for Waterlife's Myxazin which is a 5-day course.

Finally, your pH is pretty high for some of the species you keep, especially the Dwarfs and Rummynose.

Just one last question, how much do you feed your fish?

what and how often are you feed the fish and what are the measurements of the tank? how many gallons? how tall and long etc?

the tank has been set up for 4 month now and i added the stingray 144 1 month ago
my tank is a fluval roma 125 litres
i feed my fish with flake food and once a week i give them some blood worm.
the nitrite problem always been a kind of ingoing problem.
and until a month ago i use to change 20/30% of the water three times a week
those daniels???? fish are effectively leopard danios
i clean the filter with some water from my tank once a week too
anyone could advise me about any medication for the fish cataract too
thanks

For treating columnaris in the uk you need myxazin by waterlife and pimafix.
