I added a female betta into my 30l aquarium but she was scaring a lot of the other fish, the aquarium didn't seem settled and now my male Molly, who is only 1.5 inches long to tip of tail, is now hiding a lot and seems to be almost panting, or 'breathing' much quicker than normal. He seems in distress but looks otherwise healthy but would be much more outgoing in the tank before this. I have no water testing kit but every other fishbis healthy including 2 pregnant platy and 6 fry. Water changed as normal since he started behaving oddly- did not change his behaviour. Help

Oh the betta has been rehomed with a friend :)

You might try a very large water change, over 20 litres, with proper dechlorination. I find that a simple water change will often overcome many small problems that show up from time to time in one of my tanks.

Thank you oldman i did that on Wednesday evening, and I use stress coat at the recommended volume for poorly or distressed fish. I am going to buy a water test kit today this may help. He seems more perky at times but still very odd
