It's established, a 125 that I just got 2 new lights for and plan to do some planting in (Only has a sword and some wisteria right now, quite sad)

I have 3 nice big big pieces of bogwood, a fluval g6 (keep having flow problems), and an aquaclear 100 overhead filter_

current inhabitants

1x Synodontis Angelicus
1x Synodontis GranulosusxOcelifer mix
1x Blue Phantom pleco
1x Tiger Pleco
1x Julli corydora(a survivor... it happens. thinking of throwing in 5-9 more friends for him)
5x Roseline Shark (barb)
1x Angel fish

so we have some pretty established bottomdwellers.

I really dont know if my fatty angelicus could or would eat tetra, but I'd like to know what others would do at this point!!!

Cool sounds like a nice tank :) For me in a tank that size with those fish its got to be a cichlid or two :) I would suggest Severums as they are great but since you like your plants haha! How about an Acara type, Blue Acaras, Royal Acaras, Yellow Acaras, Black Acaras are all nice :)

An other nice one for the upper levels could be the golden wonder killi which is really nice and in a mixed tank like yours would fit in well :)

I never really considered anything like that. Maybe an apistogramas or kribensis pair

Kribs would work but not one for me unfortunately - you could look at block heads/ lionhead cichlids as well actually would be pretty nice.

With Apistos you could get a great colony going in that size tank. I would go for Panduro or Nijsenni as they are my favorites but tons of options :)

Im just trying to think of a cichlid that gets to a medium size that does not dig too much lol thats why I said acaras as they are not too bad Rainbow cichlids might work but not everyones cup of tea.

Well I was never too big of a fan of any cichlid besides the apistos. Most are diggers as you said, I just dont know of anythat would look great in a planted tank lol

Cichlid for planted tank. Red Cheek Acara. 4" tops (apparently), and i absolutely love mine swimming in amongst my HC, Downoi and Crypts.

Again... not a ciclid fan.

Any more opinions from anyone else?
