Help Me Make The Optimal Environment For Pandas

uh, i want to make a cory tank to with sand substrate but how high should i put the the filter intake over the sand to not get it sucked in? (i know i already asked this in another thread but no one is replying >.>)Also, what type of sand? Because doesnt some kind of sand compact together when water gets poured on it?

Rinsed play sand. And you shouldn't have too much of a problem with sand getting sucked in. My intakes is about 4-5 inches off the top of the sand it doesnt suck anything up.

also, how do you wash sand?

You put the some sand in a bucket and put a hose in it to stir it up. I put my hand in to stir up the sand to get rid of the dirt that was in it. After a few minutes the water should be clear instead of murky. When it is, then that means it is ready.
