Help me choose rasboras

What kind of rasbora should I get?

Assuming nicer appearance, most will prefer the natural looks.

I've got the purple harlies. Only a few left, but I do like them. But the original red coloration is very nice. They don't really age nice though, they tend to fade to a dingy color.

Mine when they were at their prime

Oh, I mean appearance. Just my opinion; get the purples if they make you happy. :) I'm sure their behavior is about the same.
I'm actually thinking of getting a mix of reds and purples now. Maybe a couple blacks if I can find them.

Purple is black. It's the same mutation, different name.

They come in normal, red, and purple/black.

They'll all behave about the same.

I'm going to vote for boraras. I've only kept maculata (maculatus? spotted) but I think others will be similar. Quite small lower level schoolers. I kept them w/cherry shrimp (too similar for a nice color variety). I love harlies & similar rasboras but not with small honeys. They IME school a bit higher in the tank.

My vote goes to Rummy Nose. Tend to swim in a close group in the lower half. My other Rasbora are Harlequins and Scissortails. The Harlequins scatter all over and the Scissortail may grow a little large for your tank.
