Just thought I'd let everyone know, people on PC have come to the conclusion that it's not a Sodalis, not a Trilineatus, not a Reticulatus but a CW061.

>Cw061 may just turn out to be C. sodalis (which it is very close to) with a dorsal blotch.

They are all saying they are different and they are listed as different. It's not the right body shape for Sodalis apparently which, along with the dorsal blotch, has led people to say CW061.

this is the part that confuses me, the shape is not right?, it's not that i disagree with the members on PC but i assure you, Ian's comments hold alot of clout above any member that would be on most forums.

Abit of info regarding Ian..... he is consider one the foremost cory experts in the world, he co-wrote the most renowned cory identification book on the market with Hans-Georg Evers (another leading expert on cory's) and not so long back brought a second edition out to accompany the first.

Some of his comments regarding sods, rits and CW61

This species is quite widespread and varies slightly in the colour pattern. The reticulated pattern on the body is of variable intensity and shared with the closely related Corydoras reticulatus. Corydoras sodalis never shows the round black blotch in the dorsal fin which is found in Corydoras reticulatus.

This alone shows that the body shape would be virtually identical and that makes them very closely related fish.

Another as posted above about the CW61

Cw061 may just turn out to be C. sodalis (which it is very close to) with a dorsal blotch.

Now for this comment to even come about, the fish must be scarily close to assume this actually could be the same fish as a sodalis.

I agree the fish are listed separately but the difference been that the sod and rit have been scientifically named, hence the lack of a C or CW number, CW061 hasn't, which means that it's an undescribed species essentially and COULD later down the line be identified as the same species as another cory but catch location be different. It works exactly the same in the plec world.

So although they seem to have given you a definitive answer, it is likely that it could be wrong, however, so could 'I' this fish could be a CW061 (if the fish is eventually identified as a sperate species)....  but without a catch location and a definitive answer from the 'experts' we have the right to assume it could be one of the 2 other species mentioned...ret and sod's.

Unfortunately it seems Ian (coryman) isn't active anymore on this forum which is a great shame, he would have given the most informed answer by far and a definitive ID
