ok thanks I thought it was the oil that killed from melafix, I heard that betta fix does not have the oil.
Just to clarify this:

Melafix safety data sheet says it contains cajeput oil. Bettafix page on their website says it contains melaleuca. Google tells me that cajeput oil is made form the leaves of species of Maleleuca.

They are the same thing. But because betta's tanks are usually small, it is hard to accurately dose melafix, so they made an easier to dose dilute version of melafix and called called it bettafix.

Btw He is started coming out when I put aquarium salt in the tank. His patches got worse but he is more active.
