Help Cory Dead And Others Dying Urgent!

So my tank is 120L with 12 harquline rasboras and 7 various cories now 6, The tank has been running for 2 and a half months filter was matured from day one it was just a tank swap no deaths untill today i noticed a few of my corys acting very strange swimming franticly around the tank and iching thier bodys along the sand. I cant see any visable sign's of disease on thier body's so the fish died about 30 mins ago and i done a water test here are my results

Nitrate-10ppm
Nitrite-0ppm
Ammonia-0.25ppm could be 0.50 but its hard to read the test

So i done about a 60% water cahnge about 10 mins ago tomorrow i will do a big one.

I did overfeed a little today would this make my ammonia go so high? and the other big question since setup why a ammonia spike now?

I RELLY RELLY HOPE SOMEONE CAN DIAGNOSE WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE CORRY'S PLEASE HELP ME OUT.

was it just that one that showed symptoms then died? Do the others show any similar symptoms? Do you still have the body of the dead cory? cory

No most of the cory's are showing these sign's, And yes the body is still in there, If it means anything i should of put in there the fish is missing an eye but i bought it like that and it defintly isnt infected actully a couple of my fish have missing eyes what happends to them in the pet store. And its awful my first death in this tank and espically a corry i absoutly love these guys, In the first week the corys spawned like they did regulary in my other tank but they have stoped now for the past 3-4 weeks.

any discolouration of the fish? pale, yellow etc? or any red streaks?

have you tested your water? what are the results including PH? oh and temperature.

when did you last do a water change and how much did you change?

itching bodies on sand is usually a sign of internal or external parasites.

as horrible as this might sound, sometimes the best way to diagnose the situation is to have a good close up look at the now dead fish. look in particular for any sign of worms...

In fact I would remove the dead fish immediately in case the parasite (if this is the problem) leave its host and spread.

Done test right now results are
PH 7.4
Nitrate 5.0ppm
Ammonia 0 might have a tiny reading
Nitrite 0ppm

done a 60% water change about 20 mins ago

I NEED TO KNOW WHAT TO MEDICATE WITH I AM GOING TO THE PET STORE TOMORROW

difficult to tell you what med to use when the only thing we know is that they have been itching themselves against the sand.. and one has now died.

dont know if it is parasites. need more info on how all your fish are behaving.

can you see any abnormalities on the fish at all? marks, spots etc.. even tiny spots.
are their fins clamped (closed against their body) ? have a look inparticular at the dead fish

The skin looks shiny and the anus looks red thats all i can give you ime afraid

because the fish has been 'itching/flicking' and the anus is red.. i'd go and say it's internal parasite/worms. what country do you live in? (i'm asking because there are different meds available)

i live in UK well northern ireland, i was reading and it say's meds like that will wipe out my benifical bacteria but what has to be done will be done.

some meds do yeh. depends solely on the type of parasite which is always difficult to diagnose.
for instance mine had callamanus worms. I knew this because I could just about see them, so I knew to treat with a product containing levimisole. Hopefully Wilder will have a look at your post when she is online.. shes very knowledgeable

Thanks for your help its highly appericated i must go to bed now so hopefully there will be some indication of what med to buy tomorrow.

What's the make of the test kit you are using?

Bad water quality can make fish flick and rub. Also it can make them dart.
Are any of the fish laboured breathing, or gasping.
Has any chemicals gotten into the tank.
Have you added anything new to the tank like new fish, plants.
Have you changed declorinator.

Red inflamed anus can be dropsy, constipation, internal parasites.

Signs of internal parasites are as follows =
Long stringy white poo, clear mucas poo, red poo.
Worms sticking out of the anus.
Fish will look skinny or bloated.
Sunken in belly.
Bent spine.
Fish will sometimes swim on it's side.
Not eating and spitting food out.
Red inflamed anus, swollen, or enlarged anus.
Sometimes the fish will flick and rub.

did you use new gravel and stuff like the only thing you swap from the old tank
was the filter as i have experienced this in the passed
with new gravel it like going through a new tank syndrome

it was esentally a 100% water change wouldent of affected the stats
