I need help fast please. I have a 13gal/uk tank. I did a water change 2 days ago and water became very cloudy. Have done daily changes since without disturbing substrate and it is still very cloudy. I washed filter sponge in old tank water and replaced fibre wool but still no difference. Fish appear to be going to the surface more often but they are still swimming around the tank as normal. Have 2 air stones and at present keeping them on 24hrs a day. I am going on hols in 2 days and neighbour coming in to feed them (food already measured out), but they can't do water changes. I don't know what else i can do :dunno:

Water Chem.
Ph 7.0
ammonia 0
nitrIte 0
nitrAte 0

Tank 1.
5 guppies
2 honey red gouramies

ps. could the temp be affecting water as the temp is higher than normal with the hot weather, even though heater is off?
2 platys
6 neons
1 sucking loach.

Try turning your airstones off for a bit. What color is the crap floating around look like? What is your lighting?

There doesn't appear to be any crap floating around at present, otherwise just normal poo from fish. Have turned airstone off for now (only had it on more these past couple of days because of cloudiness). The cloudiness is sort of whiteish.

I dont think the temp change has much to do with it, as long as it hasnt gone up drasticly. I am however not sure about this. It did however not have any effect on any of my tanks.

I noticed you mentioning you changed the water a lot, however I havent heard anything about cleaning the gravel. I take you did clean this as well, but just in case you havent cleaned that in a while, I thought it might be worth mentioning ;)

I usually clean the gravel every time i do a water change, but haven't cleaned it during the last 2 days in case that was causing the problem.

What type of filter, and are you sure that the filter is working? Also, U can try changing the filter media.

Filter is a Fluval 2 and I assume it is working correctly as water chem is perfect. I have been testing daily just in case it was a problem. Filter sponge has been cleaned in old tank water and fibre wool replaced. Water seem to be clearing now but very slowly. Hopefully it will be clear before I go away.
Thanks for all the advice ;)
