Are you sure they are brothers? The "Brother" is definitely a CT. But your fish looks more like a combtail. Even if they are from the same spawn, all of the fry will not look the same.

I think your betta is beautiful

And he'll probably heal up just fine!

Well when i bought the fish... it was listed as a crown tail. I think alot of the "fringes" (is that what they're called? or rays?) fell off during the stress from shipping.

Well after 7 months, Jeliasi Jr has died :( He never quite recovered from his shipping injuries and seemed to be in an awful state the last few days. I'm glad he's out of his misery, but sad to see him go :rip:

I'm so sorry. :( :rip: Jeliasi Jr. You did all you could and I'm sure he appreciates that.

I'm so sorry. :( Poor little guy.

I have a few questions... if you can remember from 7 months ago. Was the heat pad wrapped in something - newspaper, or anything? How large were the bags? It doesn't seem uncommon for the water in the bags to be 1/2 of what Bettas are in pet stores. They do need air in there, after all.

I don't beleive the heat pad was wrapped but I could be wrong. I do think the heat pad was completely unecessary as the temperature was in the mid 90's.

Ooh. That's a really sad situation, I hope you let the breeder know so they can reconsider using those in the summer!! -_-

I was just concerned, because I'll be using heat pads and that seemed strange. I didn't realize this was in the dead of summer, as opposed to the dead of winter now... so sorry for your loss, he was a really cute mustard boy.

I understand that the seller can not controlle the speed of the mail or anything, but if there was a hole in the bag the fish was shipped in and water leaked out, the seller is completely responsible. If i was the seller and that was the situation, i would completely refund your money, and send you another fish on my dime. Thogh the seller did not mean for this kind of thing to happen, i dont think there is any excuse for mailing you a care list and then telling you good luck, its just not good business.

Im sorry you lost your fish JoLtNbolt.
