HELP: Am I having "New fish" anxiety?

I also agree with what everyone's said about the tanks' size. I would only use a 10G for a breeding tank, and not a living-in tank for the Kribs.

As for the male being harassed by the female. Its because he's smaller and very unlikely to be of breeding interest to her. You'll need to find the most dominant, and largest, male possible from your LFSs' tanks'. This'll most likely help you in your breeding programme, if you decide to go down that route.

Anyhow, it's your tank and decision, so good luck.

So, as I want to understand you: The breeding will work in a 10 gal tank, but I'll need a large male? I want to breed them in the 10 gal, as is... so I need a large male, yeah!?

No.

what we are saying is its possibly ok ( i still dont agre) to move them to the 10g for breeding (not as their permanent home) once they have actually paired up.

not a good idea to let them battle it out ib a 10g though

A female is more likely to accept a male is who much bigger than herself. thats all he/she was saying. and i have never know a female to accept a male who isnt much larger.

I had a feeling I should've added the word 'temporary' to my original statement. Having a 10G for breeding your Kribs must only be a temporary arrangement, and only once you have a pairing.

I'm a 'he' by the way.

Ohhhh, ohhh, ohhh, ohhhh.... NO! I understand now. The 10 gal-thing was after... well now what do I do?

-Give them to my ex-boyfriend with a 100 gal and see if they are going to be happy there? (With nice friendly community fish, plus we breed Kribs in this tank before with the same other fish.)

-Take them back to the fish store?

Arrgg. :X

Sorry to point it out, but I hope you inderstand it had to be done.

Here's your opportunity to look for a bigger tank. You might even get suffer from MTS (multiple tank syndrome) like the rest of us. Here's hoping. :)

I already have three tanks!

I cannot afford the set up of a larger tank, or furniture; as I'd love to do! However, I am currently unemployed.

I spoke with my LFS, and they will take back the Kribs, and I will ask about getting more Dwarf Puffers; thus closing the 10 gal tank down.

Simple temporary solution until you can buy another tank: switch them with your rams. Rams are much smaller than the kribs and would be the better of the two choices to occupy the 10G.
