hi im new on this board

just found it been on www.reefpark.co.uk found a lot of information on there
ive been keeping marines for over 16 months nows
no quite a lot on marines




My Tank Set Up

main tank 48x18x18 holds approx 60 gallon
sump 30x12x15 holds approx 20 gallon
frag tank 16x16x11 holds approx 10 gallon

total volume of water 90 gallons

filteration

main tank
2"dsb of live aragonite sand approx 70kg
25kg of live rock fiji but odd bits of carrabien

sump
6" dsb growing calerpa 24/7
couple of filter mats

frag tank
all based on same sytem

main tank lighting
3x 6500k white t5s
1x 10000k blue t5
1x 36 watt moon blue t8

skimmer
redsea berlin airlift
(deltec ap850 coming soon)


sump lighting
1x 36watt triton t8

frag tank lighting
sharing triton
then a 150watt halide will go on soon

1500lph return pump
2x interpet ph3 power heads
1x pro 2 power powerhead

think i hoped to update this a bit

i also have a 6000 gallon pond on the back garden
what measure 28 ft long x 16 ft wide x 6 ft deep
currently nousing japanese koi carp going upto sizes
of about 30 inches

the filter system is 33 ft long x 3 ft wide x 3ft deep
it has 6 chambers

1st chamber nothing
2nd chamber housing about 30 brushes
3rd chamber filter mesh
4th chamber 30 brushes
5th chamber floco
6th chamber (last) 4 sheets of japanese matting , 5 sheets of fine filter matting
a fine layer of crushed cockle shell to main tain a ph value of 7.5
and then a layer of filter floss the a oaso aquamax 15000lph
the pond value of water is turn over is 3500 gallonish a hour

they is some

goldfish
japanese koi
shubunkins
sturgeon upto 4 ft
and a fresh water yabby (blue crayfish)

my dads kept koi ponds for over 23 years now
and i have been brung up with them since i was a tiddler
now i look after the pond

i also used to have freshwater
mollys
sords
platties
guppys
neons
etc

i couldnt keep them so i went on to marines see what they was like
and i have not lost a single thing
i have had 4 marine set uos now

i also have a minature fish house
shed currently about 36ftx7ftx6ft
it houses a 6ftx6ftx4ft vat for growing koi in and also keeping sick fish in
also got a 4ftx4ftx3ft vat in there same as above usages
i have about 6 tanks in there non in use yet soon might all be marines
maybe the smaller that for certain fish a ray or somthink

1 im not a millionair
2 marines are hard work and my hobby is costly
3 for all u who would like to no my age 16
4 they will be a new marine set up soon to come be about 300 gallons
after christmas
