Good afternoon millipup... I am from windy (also!) SA12.

Recently completed my first ever fishless cycle, 3 days ago in fact, and am currently building up a small number of fish.. slowly, but surely.

I sincerely hope you find the answers and opinions on any issue you may have, from here. I'd probably say there wont be a question (no matter how 'silly', i did it!!) that is not answerable on here, be it a question on one of the forums, or 15 mins research through past topics/threads/newsletter.

All the best,
Taffy.

Thanks for the welcomes !!! Freedom fighter , my "inheritance " ? The 4ft tank has a single Angel ,a Sailfin plecostomus (spelling ?) ,4 neon and 3 glowlight tetras, two platys and a bunch of little snails that burrow in the gravel... this one has an undergravel filter and various moss-balls,willow moss and floating plants,so all I have needed to do is partial water-changes every week (and a quick daily "hoovering" of the plec s overnight mess !!)Jake also left me with two other tanks ,complete with filters and all the goldfish he wants me to look after untill he has time to put a pond in at his new place, cheeky or what ? These seem to be OK for now,but I do change about half of their water twice a week -be glad when their new home is ready ,cant feel right to them to be back in a tank !!

Got some nice fish there. And it sounds like you're looking after them well.

Cheeky indeed. Welcome to our forum Millipup.
I see that you have already been welcomed on behalf of the MOD team but I will say again, anything we can help you understand to improve your fish keeping skills is indeed fair game. Please feel free to ask any and all questions in the various fish keeping sections and people most familiar with the specific subject will each do their best to help you move forward in the hobby. Very few people here have your advantage of being handed a properly functioning tank full of fish, so you are way ahead of most new fish keepers. As you said, simple water changes and routine feeding are most of what it takes to sustain a well cared for population of fish. We would be delighted to help you move forward with any other problems you might have.
