Is it okay that my tank heaters make tapping noises and varying intervals while the light is on?

Do you mean when the light comes on/off it clicks?

This is standard in all heaters I've ever had

By any chance does this happen shortly after the lights come on

Its only while the indicator light on the heater is lit. theres like a popping sound every 5-10 minutes that its on

All three of my heaters do this (1 in 1 tank, 2 in my other tank)

i kept hearing it and it took me a long time to figure out it was the heater...

Have a close look at that heater and make sure no moisture is getting inside. That is the only thing I know of that could lead to a popping sound while the heater is on. If you have a seal leaking, you will want to raise the heater until the end the wire goes into is slightly above the water line. I had a brand new heater do that to me but I am still using it partially submerged 4 years later.
