Fluval 207 problem

If the lock nuts are not damaged they should be ok, But you need to verify all gaskets, O-Ring, seals, Rubber Hose Connectors... For any kind of problems, clean and lubricate them is the first step. dismantle the connections and the filter and verify everything.

Those fluval power heads can wear out and fail with the impellor making noises. That was the problem I had with a used Fluval I bought on eBay. You can buy a new power head if that is the issue.
I bought a new head and I have the same symptoms but when it makes the noise if I pull the primer and do it a few times it goes away for a while

If I prime it a few times the noise will go away I checked all the grey rubber pieces everything is tight the only thing I can think thats leaking air is the thing on top that controls water flow where the tubes go out and in

My experience with leaking fixtures is that they leak water out and over the floor.

If you have the intake of the tube blocked or blockage inside the cansiter, then the impellor will start making noises.

Honestly, all my Fluvals are very silent. When I prime a Fluval, I always tilt the canister to exit any air still in the filter.

Are you certain you have the top of the filter cartilage lined up to the impeller intake of the powerhead inside the filter?

Hi, one thing: the filter pads for the intake are supposed to be flat rectangular pads and not the black carbon foam pads that are for the bottom filter compartment. Compressing them to fit into that intake could restrict water flow. That is probably your problem. Also, you are supposed to have a top filter compartment lid that sits on the top filter compartment too. Make sure the top output of the exit port lines up to the intake of the impeller.

Is it the missing lid and inccorect pads causing it to suck air or making it to where I have to prime it to stop crackling
