It does take some getting used to. I still toss a couple weighted silk plants and a piece of driftwood in my bare tanks, many breeders have nothing but filter, heater, & fish.

Think about the fish they dont really live in an enviroment i.e glass bottoms, in the wild.
Probably have a ripping saying that....L.O.L.....Bring it on...

it's true that they don't live in small bodies of water, and maybe not even if the plants and or gravel/sand that we give them however if you are taking about breeding then I guess thats one thing this tank was on www.ratemytank.com in the planted section so the question is why would you ask ppl to rate a very very unatural tank?

Depends what you class as natural and a planted tank doesn't mean it's natural. Amano makes his tanks to look like the landscape not underwater seens.

Natural would be murky water, plants only from the bio type the fish come from, fish that would live together in the wild and things only from that specific bio type, plants used as the filter etc.

Thats why i got a 120x30x30 inch tank with a 60x18x18 sump,i dont believe this to be tiny

From an aesthetic point of view it is poor IMHO. Ideal from a practical perspective though where cleanliness is paramount.

I'm not sure from what viewpoint people vote on "rate my tank", a site I've never visited.

Do you honestly think all amazon fish swim up and down the amazon river all 3915 miles.or do they live in niche areas....think about it its not hard.
And i like the fact you listed your tank's in us gallons sound a lot more than they are.........and while i'm at it ,'Loads Of Fry Aswel' in your pond should read 'as well'.

For God's sake i am having a laugh if people take me serious, its their problem.. and i don't really care about the queens english...she's not my queen she's yours. And english is my second language I am WELSH not english. So ban me if you want, the welsh have been victimised for centuries why stop now..

Ratemytank is usually associated with tank decor, making that tank an unusual one. I'd bet it doesn't get the best rating, some of the tanks on there look stunning.

The actual substrate in the Amazon is around 2 feet of mud that you sink knee deep into. If you want to seriously do an Amazon biotype, get a 4 foot deep tank & fill it half way with mud.

I mean maybe I started all this off wrong I should have stated what rate my tank was and then we wouldn't have had all this rediclous talk about unatural tanks and doing an exact bio type.................


Frankly I feel like my fish seem very happy certeinly happy then they were in the blue backdround no gravel no plant world of the pet store I got them at. But maybe I am wrong
