i found an old makeup box from like when i was 5 and dumped all my beads into a shoe box and then i sealed it up with silicone (currently letting it dry... smells bad  ) and now im waiting and im gonna put a betta in it next tuesday :p hehe is hold maybe 14/16 of a gallon (wich is bigger than 3/4G but smaller than 1G)

A clear, glass candy bowl that held a little over a gallon (that is a lot of candy!). He actually did very well in it for the time.

:p hehe yea i have a mason jar that holds like 3/4G :D ... would that be to small?!?! cause its a wide one!... (i only use maison jars for WC but i have so many :D :hey: they need good owners)

They might not be prime, but I think if they have a plant, lots of water changes, and some stimulation (next door neighbor!) they will thrive anyway.

And when it comes to rescuing beat up bettas from walmart or wherever, these setups are 100 times better than what they were previously in.

I generally like at least 2 gallons, but still.

i understand... i was gonna line them up one by one :p and let them sit next to each other with maybe a tall silk plant! they are like this wide:

I had to separate my girls recently. I took out the smallest one, but I had no where to put her. A while ago I bought one of those big water bottles that you put in the fridge, it is shaped like a rectangle with a spout. Anyway, it holds a little over 2 gallons of water. I knew it was sterile, it only had spring water in it. So I rinsed it out, cut a hole in the top, and voila, I have a tank. Granted I can't see IN the tank, but the girl that is in there is very happy. She is a deep blue, and when I put her in the tank she was almost white with stress. She will stay in there until I can get another tank for her. I am not going to reintroduce her to the community tank again.

my firsrt female betta was housed in a really big wine glass lol :p it wasnt use tho lol
now the wine glass holds potpurri(sp?)

when i separate i usually use a cleaned out ice cream pail!

when i still had a betta, i would take him out and put him in a popcorn bowl, while i cleaned out his tank...

My Liza lived in a mason jar for the first week of her life with me because big butt hag Cloey wouldn't stop picking on her.

I hate to even admit to this .... I was on the way home from the pet store when my boss called .... she was desperate ... could I come right away for about an hour or two? well it happened that I was practically in front of her shop when she called *sigh* I said OK but we have to find something to put my fish in while I work. It was a wine shop and it so happened that she had a new box of large red wine glasses so I dumped Mars ... with the bag water (no dechlor with me so no new water) into a wine glass and he sat on a shelf as a lovely display until I finished helping my boss stock and prep for the evening wine tasting.

He seemed to be none the worse for his little side trip

My old Betta lived his whole life in a 2gallon clear glass vase, that i found at Micheals for $2.99..
It looked beautiful, and i made his plant a perfect hidey place.
