Hatching/bredding Fish

#### so it could die eh?

But what about the platy in my pictures? how ready are they to give birth?

So what chall I do?

All they are doing it pooing and loads of it, chall I let the red one out?

Hmmm I cant see her gravid spot, but maybe you can since she is in front of you? DOes she have a huge black area near her anus? If so, she should be close to birth because she is huge.

yeah the red wag has got a gravid spot but it doesn't seem as big as the other platy?
But it is big

They've been in there for almost 2 days now (I feel sorry for them) but how soon do you think it is untill they give birth? Any rough idea?

I'd say within 3 days. Hopefully, for their sake, but there can't be any definitive answer, it's always hard to tell.

they are fine in that small trap right? or chall I let them out then?

I would persoally let them out as I hate breeding traps. I would let them have their fry in their own ten gallon tank, and once she is done having fry, remove her.

i only have that breeding trap

so i dont want the other fish to eat the

the black spot people are talking about are the unborn babys inside the mother growing bigger, getting more colour and so we can "see" them inside their mother. with experience you will tell in future how long she has until she drops her fry if you pay attention now and remember what you see, which i think you are doing! instead of breeding traps i would get some thick feathery type plants like java moss so some of the fry can hide in.
finally try to relax and enjoy this what ever the outcome. they say fish keeping is relax full but i remember when my fish first had fry!!!!!!!
