I've had this Harlequin rasbora for a few days now and have just noticed her mouth seems to be stuck open, I've looked in and can't see anything stuck bearing in mind that the fish is only about an inch long. I fed all my fish and she was the only one not to eat, she just sat there. Any ideas? She looks well apart from that and all my other fish are fine. Here is a couple of pics. Poor thing!

Is the mouth red and inflamed.

On the outside it looks normal, when I look inside it looks red but that just looks like the inside of the fish.

Did it come like that, and do you think the fish has bumped it's mouth on the glass or ornament.

For now I would just add some melafix to the tank if you have any, or a aquarium salt if you have no scaless fish.

I'm not sure if it was like that when I got it, and I haven't seen it bump into the glass. I have a lobster, would that be classed as scaleless?

Thanks for the help, I'll get some melafix tomorrow.

Jay.

I'm not sure on the lobster, not to keen on things like that, so I would wait and get the melafix.

Melafix will be fine with the lobster.

for future reference make sure the treatments you use aren't copper based as these will injure the lobster very badly.

ok cheers. Although this morning I looked for her she wasn't there, she might be hiding I don't know, but she didn't come out when I put in food. I'll probably have to think the worse. :(

Or I hope not poor thing.

She hasn't been around in a couple of days now and I've had a look through the tank, she's not there :( Oh well, I guess she's gone to the aquarium in the sky.
