We have a 40g tank that we had kept as a freshwater community tank for a couple of years. While I was pregnant and for the past year it has sat empty in our dining room. We decided we want to get it set up again and try african ciclids this time. All around the top of the tank are hard water marks that are very difficult to remove. They look terrible.

Anyone have any suggestions as to what to do to remove them? I don't want to use any type of harsh chemicals.

Thanks

i've heard pure lemon juice and vinegar are good options, but it needs to soak in it a little, so can only do one side of the tank at a time. gluck :)

I use vinegar, you might need to leave it on there for a while. If you don't have much experience with Rift Lake cichlids, investigate which one will fit into that tank before you definitely decide to go for them.

ive used boiling hot salty water with the the scrubby side ov a sponge
