Had This For 6 Months And He Hasnt Grown

Some very sound advice from NOTG, the only other thing i will say is still give veg often aswell as the higher protein diet, with a constant protein diet, it could lead to bloat which is another thing you would ideally want to try an avoid, some rough in the diet will ensure they still do number 2's

.... de-shelled peas will work well for this.

As to the plec itself, i haven't actually followed this thread so don't know the background, but if NOTG states it looks less healthy now than the original pics, it stands a chance it's being picked on, the torn/threaded fins sort of gives this away, synos from what i can remember can get aggressive at feeding time, so this could be the cause, it could be the other plec.... once the plec is moved back to the main tank, assuming he/she recovers.... i would keep a close eye out for any aggression, lights on and off.... and around feeding time.... there is certainly something a miss and for now, with the condition of the above plec, it would probably be best assuming aggression is the problem.

So, I was on vacation out of town from Saturday until yesterday. I didnt see this one yesterday, but my plecs like to hide so I didnt think anything of it. But by this morning I still hadnt found him, so I started taking my decor out piece by piece. I found him dead under a plastic plant. I dont know how long he was dead. I did notice the water is a bit cloudier than it usually is.

Sorry to read the update.

The cloudier water does not sound good, by all means you could test to be sure, but I would be inclined to do a 75-95% water change anyway ASAP.

Sorry about the pleco too. Hope your other fish are ok.

Sorry the Pleco didn't make it, but it wasn't like you didn't try.  Posting the situation here got many folks to help advise, even if in the end the fish still died.

It's always a good idea to do a big water change after a death in your tank.  I'd probably do a 50%, then wait 2 days, then another 50%.

Im thinking my black skirts bullied him to death. cause it was right after their addition that i posted this. and they bully the others. im taking them back to my lfs...

Blackskirts are notorious bullies. I know some people keep them without any problems, every situation is different, but I tried them once and the dynamics in my tank changed instantly. They were so mean! I too, had to bring them back.

Sorry to hear about your pleco :(  ... At least you have improved the life of your other fish by removing the blackskirts though, and I would do the water changes advised above.  GL!
